Why can’t I see the Lefthand Navigation menu in Moodle?

The lefthand navigation menu ("Navigation drawer") can be hidden (and shown) by clicking the icon with the stacked lines in the top left corner of the screen. Hiding the menu hides it only from you and not from the students in your class.
