How can I give another instructor or a student access to my class?

Answer

Instructors have access to add additional users to their classes. Users can be assigned to specific roles depending on the level of access they need.

NOTE: Enrolling a student in Moodle does not register them for the course. If they are not officially registered and listed in WebAdvisor, they will not receive credit for completing the course.

To give a user access to your Moodle course:

  1. Click the Participants link in the left menu on your Moodle course's main page. (Click the stack lines icon at the top left to open this menu if needed.)
  2. At the top right of the Participants page click Enroll users.
  3. In the Select users search box type the name of the user.
  4. When the user's name appears, click on it to select it. (You can select another user immediately, if you intend to give them the same role.)
  5. Assign a role by selecting an option from the dropdown list. "Teacher" gives full instructor access. "Student" is the role you should assign to students.
  6. Click Enroll users. The user should appear in the Participants list. (Check to make sure you have assigned the correct role.)
